Kimberly Thornton, PA-C

After earning her degree in Biology with distinction from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2017, Kimberly realized she belonged in dermatology through her experience as a Medical Assistant at Central Dermatology Center. Following more than two years of working alongside the MDs and PAs at the practice, she furthered her studies at East Carolina University to become a Physician Assistant, knowing she would pursue a career in dermatology upon graduation.

Kimberly's dedication to academia carried over into her PA studies, graduating among the top of her class in December 2021 with the promise of returning to Central Dermatology Center as a practicing PA. Her professional interests include medical dermatology, surgical dermatology, and medical aesthetics. She is motivated by the opportunity to treat a wide demographic including an array of ages, skin tones, and medical conditions that can affect both the physical and mental health of her patients. Kimberly is a member of the North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants, American Association of Physician Assistants, and the Society for Dermatology Physician Assistants. She spends her spare time going to the gym, exploring new eateries, and reading her way through Reese Witherspoon's book club.
