Why Use Neurotoxins such as BOTOX®?

With targeted injections in to muscles we move with expression, BOTOX®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, and Daxxify® relax specific muscles that are responsible for creases and wrinkles. These wrinkles can be softened and treated for improvement and prevention:

  • Glabellar Lines (vertical lines between the eyes and slightly above the bridge of the nose)
  • Crow’s Feet
  • Forehead
  • Platysmal Banding of the Neck (vertical lines along the neck)
  • Lower Face Muscles to improve dimpling of the chin, downward turned corners of the mouth, and jawline contour
  • Migraines
  • Masseter Muscles (TMJ)

Plus, our patients treated with BOTOX® can earn rewards through the Allē program that will help them save on future treatments.

How Do BOTOX®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, and Daxxify® Work?

Neurotoxins are effective at reducing the appearance of dynamic wrinkles, which are wrinkles that are caused by repeated facial movement such as expressions. To do this they all rely on the same active ingredient, botulinum toxin type A which inhibits acetylcholine in the neuromuscular junction and only affects the specific muscle it is injected in to. When administered by an experienced medical professional with an acute understanding of facial anatomy, these products inhibit muscle movement leaving the treated muscle with less tone and a smoother overall appearance.

What Is the Difference Between BOTOX®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, and Daxxify®?

BOTOX®, Dysport®, Xeomin®, and Daxxify® all share the same active ingredient, botulinum toxin type A, but differ in the protein delivering the toxin. BOTOX® has the longest standing and proven safety and efficacy profile and is the most widely used neuromodulator in the world. Dysport® has been observed to be better suited to larger treatment areas and is designed for greater spread in muscle tissue resulting in more dynamic wrinkle reduction. During your consultation, our skin care experts make a sound treatment recommendation based on your anatomy and desired treatment results.

What Happens During a Procedure?

A treatment with BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport®, Xeomin®, or Daxxify® is quick and easy. First, the injector cleanses the area to be treated. He or she may also mark the injection site to ensure accuracy. He or she then makes the injections, which last for only a few moments each and are relatively painless. Many people compare the sensation to a pinprick or insect bite.

BOTOX® Cosmetic, Dysport®, and Xeomin® ® patients are generally able to resume their normal activities immediately following a treatment with few restrictions.

When Will I See Results?

You may begin noticing a difference after 2 to 7 days. However, it is recommended to wait up to 2 weeks before optimal results are seen. There is a minimal risk of bruising associated with the treatment, however this side effect is rare and temporary.

Results typically last 3 or 4 months, and with regularly scheduled treatments, long-term benefits may become prolonged including improvement of wrinkles in the skin at rest.
